Competencies and selected work

Print page

Further topics

  • electrochemical CO2 reduction
  • Hydrogen sensor technology
  • Electrochemical energy technology (material and method development)

Prof. Dr. Roland Marschall
Physical Chemistry III

Research focuses:

  • Nanostructured materials for electrocatalytic and photocatalytic CO2 reduction

Project examples:

  • Electro- and Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction with [NiFe]-Chalcogenides (DFG)
  • CO2SimO - Photoelectrochemical CO2 reduction with simultaneous oxidative recovery (BMBF): In cooperation with two companies, two research institutes, and the University of Hannover, solar energy is used to convert the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) into the energy carrier methane and at the same time produce the important bleaching and disinfecting agent hydrogen peroxide. The Marschall company is developing new photocatalysts for this purpose
